I was looking for a new piece to draw and I stumbled on a random shot of this mecha and BAM. I just loved the pose, it looked like such a heavy tank of an MS, with an archaic styled weapon for such a futuristic machine.
And you gotta dig the face for being full or personality. They're almost elephant or pig like to me, which I used to hate, but now i'm sold.
This drawing was surprisingly tricky to layout proportions wise. I did the base proportions sketch 3 times before I was happy with it.
And see all that dark shadow?! Oh NO. Shadow is the enemy of ballpoint art. I had to lay down layer on layer on layer, ha ha! But MAN am I happy with how it turned out.
Fun moment: I finally got the monoeye light to give off a 'glow'. Yeah!
