This is the second 'super light' styled drawing I did, I wanted to go with something totally different. I loved the bold geometric armour shapes of this mecha, and the exaggerated proportions that Katoki Hajime builds into these UC era designs.
I found converting the inner red glowing frame parts very tricky to turn them into a correctly valued greyscale look. It was a really nice challenge.
I loved working in the vibrant shadows over the overexposed white armour, showing me the original box art is a great pose and lighted model from the get go.
Fun moment: Making myself NOT add edges to some of the armour edging to keep them overexposed looking. Turning off my brain to the compulsive desire to draw in an 'edge' was so fun.
