camera videographer documentary

I'm a brisbane-based artist who loves bringing stories to life through film. Listening to people and helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera so they truly feel themselves and crafting a video edit that feels alive.

Thanks to a family of artists, I grew up making things with my hands and loving drawing (Which I still love, you can see my gundam artwork on this site too!). Film gives me the same sense of creative freedom. Instead of pencils and pens it's lenses and light, microphones and shutter speeds. You should see how excited I am to get back to the studio to see raw footage for the first time after a shoot!

I'm also a big hobby person, so you might see me around brisbane indoor bouldering or riding my one wheel, or on a walk with my one-and-a-half year old in our hiking backpack.

ABOUT ME

End-to-end
filmmaking

Let me take care of all the technical things so you can just enjoy the video making journey!

I work closely with my clients to plan and develop their idea from the very start, then take care of everything: location setup, talent coaching, lighting, filming, editing, music and post-production all the way to the finished product.

20+ years
experience

I've worked with universities, high schools, research groups, local artists, event producers, Indigenous communities, the health industry and more.

The comfort I have behind the camera and in the editing suite means I can bring out the best in a video project.

Latest documentary:
'Karakuri puzzles'

Travelling in Japan I visited a small group of craftsmen who hand make intricate puzzles. I was fortunate enough to spend just one day there filming interviews and workshop scenes.

The documentary is in the final stages of post-production and has been a massive labour of love for me to create! I have some really cool behind the scenes footage that I'm also really excited to share.

Wonderful individuals that I've made videos for.

Artists' wooden beast!

wooden marble maze run video

Just WATCH THIS THING! It is incredible. Yukari, a local japanese born artist of what she calls 'Useless objects' spent 3+ years crafting this beautiful machine by hand adding segment after segment. It was a joy for me to visit and capture it on film and have it be as close to the experience in real life as possible. I can tell you the sound in person is like a waterfall and rain all mixed together!

The future of aged living

research planning day video

A gathering of town planners, researchers, living experts, all coming together to brainstorm and create ideas for change in living design and aged life.

It was really nice to be surrounded by people who truly care about making a difference to communities and how we live as we age.

Translation and interpreting

university student life interview campus

Fiona, a student at UQ, studying translation and interpreting.

I worked hard to make sure Fiona was comfortable and felt herself while I chased her around with my camera all day! It was great to meet Fiona and the marketing team of UQ to produce this video.

Aphasia research

research centre aphasia video

A very special team of researchers and therapists helping people who have Aphasia, a condition that affects language and speech.

Getting to meet and work with the participants and team was such a treasure for me.

Helping mothers in community

video interview community mothers

A special service that really care and provide for indigenous mothers.

Getting to see how much the team truly care for these women was so lovely. Now that I'm a father myself, I can actually imagine what a gem for the community this is.

Traffic crash support

research centre traffic crash rehabilitation

A lovely team of researchers helping craft tools and strategies to help people who have suffered in a road traffic crash, gain confidence again.

Teams like this are always a treat for me. Getting to see inside a field of work that's new to me, and to see the genuine passion and care they have will never get old. I enjoyed working on this so much.
